Highlights
  • 1 x M90 HMI Head, 15 to 49° Focusing
  • 4-Way Barndoors
  • 1 x Head Cable: 50'
  • EB MAX 6/9 Ballast

B&H has put together this ARRI M90 HMI Head Kit with Ballast to meet the requirements of productions that need a great deal of light to punch through silks or bounce off reflective surfaces, backed by lens-less 15 to 49-degree beam variability. The kit includes the M90 HMI head, able to maximize the use of a separately purchased HMI, daylight-balanced lamp. A set of 4-way barndoors is also included as is a 50' head-to-ballast cable. The head is powered by the EB MAX 6/9 ballast with onboard DMX and selected lamp frequency. High-speed shooters will appreciate features such as Active Line Filter (ALF) and AutoScan, ensuring optimum light and image quality for high-speed recordings up to 1000 fps.

ARRI M90 HMI Head

With power that positions it between the M40 and the ARRIMAX 18/12, the M90 HMI Lamp Head from ARRI employs faceted MAX Reflector Technology that focuses from 15 to 49 degrees, combining the best qualities of a Fresnel and PAR fixture to produce an output similar to a 12,000W light from a 9,000W lamp. The IP23 weather-resistant M90 ships with a yoke with a 1-1/8" Junior mounting pin. Tilt lock levers on both sides of the light firmly secure the weighty 88 lb fixture.

The M90 requires a ballast for use and 2 are available. Both units employ CCL (Compensation of Cable Losses) to maintain power with long cable runs independent of their length. They also feature a power-saving Active Line Filter (ALF) and built-in DMX for remote operation from a console. The standard EB 6/9 operates at 50, 60 and 75 Hz while the 1000 Hz high speed version allows up to 1,000 flicker-free frames per second.

ARRI Head to Ballast Cable for Daylight 6000, Arrisun 60, Arri-X 60 and Compact HMI 6000 - 50'

A 50' long head to ballast cable that connects the Arrisun 60, Daylight 6KW and Compact 6KW HMI lights to their ballasts.

ARRI EB MAX 6/9 Ballast

The ARRI EB MAX 6/9 Ballast is intended for use with select ARRI lamp heads. This ballast has ALF (Active Line Filter), which provides a higher power factor resulting in more efficient power use. This is accomplished by shifting the voltage and current waveforms in phase and minimizing harmonics and spikes. ALF also minimizes the current carried back on the neutral leg of the power systems. Cable Loss Compensation, which prevents power loss in head-to-ballast cables up to 300' long, is also featured. The ballast has a low-noise switch and a power factor of 0.98.

This ballast has substantial DMX control. In addition to On/Off and dimming, both operation mode and frequency can be controlled remotely. For ease of use, indicators on the ballast's front panel display the lamp wattage, DMX channel, operation mode, and selected lamp frequency. High speed shooters will appreciate features such as Active Line Filter (ALF), and AutoScan, ensuring optimum light and image quality for high-speed recordings up to 1000 fps.
